You say, “I’m fine.” But inside, it feels like everything is about to crack.
Therapy for anxiety, depression, and life transitions in Stillwater, Oklahoma and online across all of Oklahoma
Life looks manageable on the outside; the job, the kids, the relationship. But inside? You’re exhausted from trying to meet everyone’s expectations (including your own). You’ve gotten so good at pushing through that you can’t tell the difference between surviving and living.
You scroll through social media and think, Why does everyone else seem to have it together? You lose your temper, then spiral into guilt and shame.
You wake up already behind, rush through your day, and still feel like you’re failing.
Sound familiar?
If you’ve been holding it all together — barely — and pretending you’re okay, it’s time for something different.
Hi! I’m Ruth
I’m a bilingual (Spanish + English) therapist in Oklahoma who works with people who are tired of pretending.
My clients are often parents, teens, and young adults who feel stuck, overwhelmed, or emotionally shut down. They might be navigating transitions, trauma, anxiety, or just trying to figure it out when nothing feels clear.
My therapy room is a place where you don’t have to be perfect — you get to be human.
Because therapy shouldn’t be about having it all figured out. It should be about having a space to be real.
Why I do this work
I became a therapist because I know what it’s like to feel like you're constantly falling short; even when you're doing everything "right."
I’ve seen how invisible pressures (from family dynamics, cultural expectations, or unspoken roles we’ve had to carry) can take over our lives without us even realizing it. And I’ve watched people discover what it’s like to live without those pressures weighing them down.
What I love most? That moment when someone starts to notice.
“I noticed I was getting irritable with my partner, but this time I paused.”
“I realized I didn’t have to say yes to everything.”
“I didn’t even know I needed to talk about that past experience, but now I can see how much it’s still impacting me.”
Those moments are powerful. They’re where healing begins.
What therapy with me looks like
If you’ve had therapy before that felt like just “talking” without direction…this will feel different. Clients often tell me:
“You actually give me things to work on between sessions.”
“You helped me realize something I didn’t know even was still affecting me.”
“It’s nice to finally feel heard, and also like I’m learning something”
I use proven approaches like:
DBT (Dialectical Behavior Therapy) for emotional regulation, boundaries, and relationship repair
ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy) for building values-based change
TF-CBT and WET (Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavior Therapy & Written Exposure Therapy) for trauma processing and healing
CPP (Child-Parent Psychotherapy for relational healing between parents and young children.
But more importantly, I help you slow the chaos and start noticing. Together, we’ll unpack what’s driving your emotional patterns and create tools to help you respond with intention, not just reaction.
You might be here because
You're tired of feeling like a “bad mom,” “distant partner,” or “messy adult”
You shut down instead of speaking up and then feel alone in your own life
You’re navigating college, parenting, or transitions and wondering, “Why is this so hard for me?”
You feel like you’re supposed to have it figured out, but deep down, you’re barely holding it together
And on top of that? You’ve been carrying invisible expectations (from culture, family, society) that have made you feel like your needs aren’t valid.
Let’s change that.
Therapy in English or Spanish | from anywhere in Oklahoma
I work with clients across the state via secure telehealth. Whether you’re in Glenpool, Tulsa, Stillwater, or anywhere else in Oklahoma, we can connect from the comfort of your space.
And as a bilingual therapist, I offer sessions in both English and Spanish — because therapy should meet you in your language, both emotionally and literally.
What healing looks like with me
You begin to notice how your body reacts before you spiral, and you know what to do next
You stop snapping at your partner or kids and start reconnecting
You get curious instead of critical; with yourself and others
You finally give yourself permission to rest, to feel, and to grow
This isn’t quick-fix therapy. It’s sustainable, compassionate, real-life work.
You don’t have to stay in survival mode.
You don’t have to keep pretending you’re fine when you’re not. You don’t have to carry it all by yourself anymore.
Let’s talk about what’s going on under the surface — and how we can help you move forward.
Let’s chat and see if we’re a good fit. No pressure, just connection.

I work with teens, college students, and parents; particularly those navigating life transitions, emotional overwhelm, relationship struggles, and unresolved trauma.
If you're someone who has always felt pressure to “keep it together” while carrying heavy emotional loads under the surface, we’re probably a good fit.

Most of my training and experience is valued in the areas of:
Trauma (recent or past)
Anxiety and emotional regulation
Family and parenting dynamics
College and life transitions
Relationship and identity struggles
These often overlap, and we’ll work together to make sense of the patterns impacting your current life. -
I use evidence-based approaches such as DBT, ACT, and trauma-informed therapies including TF-CBT and Written Exposure Therapy. But you don’t need to know what all those letters mean to benefit from them!
In our sessions, that might look like:
Naming and tracking emotional patterns
Learning to set boundaries without guilt
Exploring old stories that are still shaping your responses
Practicing real-life skills to help you pause, repair, and reconnect
Think of therapy with me as equal parts insight, action, and compassion.

You’re not alone. A lot of my clients come in feeling skeptical. What’s different here is that I won’t just “nod and listen.” I offer practical tools, real conversation, and a compassionate; but honest space to help you gain confidence to make changes you are wanting and needing. Many clients say this work feels more helpful and grounded than therapy they’ve tried in the past.
-
My primary focus is working with teens, college-age individuals, and parents. I don’t currently offer couples therapy, but if you’re navigating parenting or family tension, I can support you in making changes that impact the whole system; especially if you’re trying to parent differently than you were raised.
